Lifestyle Coach Training for the National Diabetes Prevention Program

Upon completion of the training, attendees will be designated “Lifestyle Coaches,” and will be confident to enable participants to make long-lasting lifestyle changes to better their health and to educate community members on how the National DPP can prevent/delay type 2 diabetes. Dynamic Therapy and Wellness Services, Inc. (DTAWS) now offers health advocates and health educators with the opportunity to participate in a Lifestyle Coach Training (LCT) to acquire the necessary skills to deliver a successful CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) in Florida. This training is based on the curriculum developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with additional resources from the Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) at Emory University in Atlanta.

Dynamic Therapy and Wellness Services, Inc. (DTAWS) now offers health advocates and health educators with the opportunity to participate in a Lifestyle Coach Training (LCT) to acquire the necessary skills to deliver a successful CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) in Florida. This training is based on the curriculum developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with additional resources from the Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC) at Emory University in Atlanta. DTAWS has been working with the community organization in Marion County Florida to guide them on effective delivery diabetes self-management and diabetes prevention best practices. DTAWS provides the two-day in-person training at multiple locations in Florida for Faith-Based Organization, Professionals and individual Diabetes Educators, or staff at organizations that are interested in delivering a quality and meaningful diabetes prevention program with trained staff.

DTAWS’ 2-day, in-person DPP Lifestyle Coach Training:

  • Features an interactive, classroom setting, small group format with hands-on practice group facilitation techniques
  • Delivered by expert DPP Master Trainer, using CDC-recognized National DPP curriculum

Training includes:

  • Lifestyle Coach Facilitation Guide, Coaches Manual and Participant Manual
  • Interactive discussion on classroom management, insight from actual coaches on best practices and real-life experiences
  • DPRP Guidelines Tutorial (Review of DPRP Standards and Operating Procedures).
